Alternatives to consider
What to check before you sign up
Whichever business loan provider you choose, compare these points:
- APR vs. factor rate. Some products quote a factor rate instead of APR. Convert both to total repayment so you can compare them fairly.
- Repayment schedule. Daily or weekly payments affect cash flow more than a monthly schedule, even at the same total cost.
- Time to funding. Online lenders can fund in days. Banks and SBA loans take longer but often cost less.
- Personal guarantee and liens. Many loans require a personal guarantee or a blanket lien on business assets. Know what you are pledging.
