Before you choose
Use these points to compare any business loan provider, whether or not it appears on The Top 10 Experts.
Some products quote a factor rate instead of APR. Convert both to total repayment so you can compare them fairly.
Daily or weekly payments affect cash flow more than a monthly schedule, even at the same total cost.
Online lenders can fund in days. Banks and SBA loans take longer but often cost less.
Many loans require a personal guarantee or a blanket lien on business assets. Know what you are pledging.
Usually time in business, monthly revenue, credit history and industry. Requirements vary by lender and product.
A bank loan partly guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Rates are often lower, but approval takes longer.
Options are narrower for businesses under a year old. Equipment financing and business credit cards are common starting points.
